This isn’t to say that press freedom guarantees a thriving democracy, but it does ensure that key conversations and discussions take place and that a greater understanding of the truth can be achieved.

Despite the obstacles, press freedom has been seen as an essential right among many countries and is consistently being fought for on all levels.
The United States has in many ways set the standard for the importance of freedom of the press, and it’s incumbent upon all citizens to stay knowledgeable and actively support journalists in the pursuit of the truth.
