The University of Utah College of Social and Behavioral Science (UCSBS) celebrates the Foundation Day every year in order to commemorate the opening of the college on July 1, 1950.

We are dedicated to providing students with innovative and dynamic educational and research experiences of the highest caliber.
On Foundation Day, we celebrate our history and our achievements as well as the accomplishments of the students, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters during the past six decades.
This day provides a vital opportunity to strengthen our sense of community as well as recognize the diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives that have contributed to the success of UCSBS.
Furthermore, this day allows us to recognize the contributions of our alumni and the profound impact they have had on our college.
The students, staff, and faculty members also come together on this day to celebrate the past, recognize accomplishments, and plan for the future.
Our college celebrates Foundation Day with events such as a featured speaker series, engagement fairs, cultural exhibitions, alumni receptions, award ceremonies, and many other activities.
On this day, we come together as a campus and community to recognize the great success that the University of Utah has achieved in its sixty years as one of the nation’s premier institutions for social and behavioral sciences.
